Anther professional that I can recommend if I am booked who is here in the area is Chris Smith.  He is an absolute professional with a keen eye and an artistic style. (http://www.chrisandcami.com) 

One out-of-state wedding photographer who I found had really interesting work is Aperture Photographics.  They offer a photojournalistic style photography and are based in Portland, Oregon.

Wedding Directories

Wedding Directories are sort of like a search engine for wedding professionals.  So in one place, you can find many different wedding professionals you can hire for your wedding. 

My favorite directory is Decidio. In that directory, brides and grooms can leave feedback about a particular vendor.  This feedback will help others make decisions as to who they would like to hire for their wedding.  Click here to view the feedback left for me on Decidio.

Wedding Museum directory offers lists of several types of vendors.  Marketing Tool is a directory of several types of vendors outside of weddings.  They offer not only photographer and videographer listings, but web designers, and graphical designers too. 

Another good directory is by Yahoo!.  They have a local directory that is based off of several sites that they pull information from.  Just go to http://local.yahoo.com/ and search for "videographer" in zip code 29464.

Wedding Photographer Finder is another directory that focuses on strictly photographers.  They don't have a lot of listings for Charleston however.

One idea that I think would be really neat if done right would be DVD Wedding Invitations.  I have seen their demo and it looks pretty good.  This would be a great way to have a beach wedding invitation because it would be a bit more casual than the formal paper mailing.

This site called Special Event Ticketing creates "tickets" for your events.  They are pretty cool because they look like event tickets you would get at a concert or sporting event.  These would go over well at a wedding where the bride, groom and their families were huge sports fans.
